Abstract: The first hydroxilated series of coumarin-chalcone derivatives has been synthesize starting from the corresponding salicyl aldehyde and β-ketoester precursors by a Knoevenagel reaction in order to obtain the methoxy derivatives which have been further hydrolyzed with a Lewis acid.
